Catherine BrassierVice President
Catherine Brassier is the National Manager of Evaluation and Research (Lived Experience) at Wellways. She is also an Adjunct Research Fellow in Social Work and Social Policy at La Trobe University where she did her Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship as a Consumer Academic. She draws on her experience of mental distress and personal recovery, plus her experience as a mental health worker. She runs a successful multi-perspective consulting practice “Lived Solutions” (www.Lived-solutions.com). Catherine has completed a Bachelor of Social Work with honours (2014), Bachelor of Arts (2003) and is a qualified drug and alcohol counsellor (2008). She completed her PhD scholarship in 2020 having conducted a RCT of a psychosocial intervention for people with a chronic health condition and their carers. Other notable achievements include contributing to the Victorian Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System on technical advisory groups and through a significant systematic review of evidence for social interventions for people with complex support needs, this was later published in World Psychiatry (Impact factor 45.5).
